Charger has become the concrete subcontractor of choice with some of Florida's largest General Contractors. WHY IS CONCRETE THE PREFERRED MATERIAL FOR SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, ROADS AND PARKING LOTS?

1.Concrete is strong, stable and easy to maintain. When properly installed it will last for decades. Unlike paver blocks it is much less likely to settle.

2. It is an environmentally friendly material. Because it is light in color it is cooler and contributes much less to global warming than asphalt. Unlike asphalt it does not discharge volatile organic chemicals because of the radiation of sunlight or the solvent quality of storm water. 

3. It lends itself to artistic interpretations at much less cost than other materials. It can be colored or dyed, stamped and shaped and can be coated if beneficial. 

Safety. When properly installed and maintained it provides strong support for foot traffic, bicycles and vehicles. At night it reflects light better than other surfaces requiring less artificial light.  Fewer streetlights mean less energy cost.
